Gearboxes are a science of their own. They form the connection to the final drive and come in all shapes and sizes. Here at CECAG, we can restore Your gearbox to it's prime and, sometimes with upgrades, improve on the drivability of the vehicle.
We have a lot of experience with several different types of gearboxes.
The Moss box, as fitted to a myriad of makes like Jaguar or Morgan to name just 2. Nuffield era boxes as fitted to MG's or Riley's or actually
almost every British classic car manufacturer in the past.
My fascination with gearboxes started quite early on. In 1979, as a young, and green behind the ears, technician, it happened that I had to repair an automatic gearbox from a V12 Jaguar that had gone wrong. This was My introduction to automatics and I have never looked back. To date, I have repaired and restored all sorts of automatics. Borgwarner GM and ZF gearboxes are amongst My favorites. They are compact, efficient and reliable.
Another of My all time favorites is the Wilson pre-selector gearbox. This gearbox is a genius invention and one that I really enjoy working on.
I work with various manufacturers to re-produce parts for these boxes, with great success.
Be it gears or shafts or just simple bushings. Nothing is impossible.
